I'm considering buying the 3G iPad if it comes out while I'm on vacation. I'll be in a city with a Best Buy for part of my trip.

But my main computer that I currently sync my iPhone with is my desktop, which won't be coming with me.

I also understand that you need to connect to iTunes before you can use the iPad.

Any down side to just syncing with a copy of iTunes on my laptop? I'll probably have to wait until I return before I can download the apps.

Any other downsides?

Btw, Best Buy will unlock and activate your iPad in store if you ask them.

Thanks for your help.

Couple days later, and still talking before end of April, so I'm beginning to think this means by April 30th. Especially with the international delays.

So maybe buy it at end of vacation on way back home.
