Understood: iPhone 4, upgrade from iOS 4 latest release to iOS 5 upon RTW. Corp Exchange Active Sync enforcing 6 digit passcode lock.

Until yesterday, 10/23/2011, no issues. Discovered the following two situations:

  • Randomly performing slide to unlock phone does not prompt for passcode
  • iPhone in locked mode > hold down home butten until Voice Control is enabled > click on Cancel > slide to unlock iPhone > no prompt for passcode

Passcode Lock is ON. When I go to General > Passcode Lock > prompted for passcode > type current passcode > done > Turn Passcode Off (grayed out due to Active Sync rule). Even after just typing in passcode, lock the phone > slide to unlock > still not prompted to enter passcode.

Anyone else experience this behavior?

What was secure in iOS 4 is no longer secure in iOS 5 on my configuration.

You're right, it was set to 15 minutes. I don't recall this setting in iOS 4..new in iOS 5?

Hopefully that can be managed more securely using Active Sync.

Thanks!
