Everytime my mac slows down, I always find myself checking the activity monitor. Can anyone shed some light on WindowServer?I notice this process is always going on along with kernel_task/pmTool/and usb. Are these common processes?

Thanks

The WindowServer "owns" all the windows on your screen. It deals with moving them around, compositing them and so on. It's necessary. The other represent required system components controlling the hardware on your computer at a very low level. The are also required.
