My sister & I both have (had) the original Apple Watch, version 3.0 (14S326)
On our iPhone 6's, are both upgraded to iOS 10.0.2

For awhile after upgrading to iOS 10 / Apple Watch 3.0, activity sharing worked and we could see each others data. We would even get notifications when a workout was completed. Then one day neither of us were getting any data on the other but our iPhones/watches were tracking our own activity.

Odd, we have both tried deleting our sharing & re-adding ourselves a few times (& in different orders) but it never seems to "link", the awaiting your reply just seems to spin & spin.

Later, my sister upgraded to the iPhone 7 & Apple Watch series 2.... (I did not) and we tried again. Still nothing. We can see each other when we press the + in Sharing suggestions but it just spins & spins.

We have AppleCare on our Apple Watchs, so have not tried Apple support yet but just thought I would throw out this question into the forums for maybe another idea how to fix?

Hi, I had exactly the same problem and spent many hours trying to fix the issue. And I did ! Apple tried to help, but were really guessing at fixes.

It appears to be an issue with iCloud and Apple ID's. I changed my Apple ID, deleted previously sent Activity Invites and resent and it worked instantly and continues to do so.

Go the the Apple manage your Apple ID page and change your email address for a different one. Note - it can't end with iCloud.com or me.com, not sure why but it says this on the website.

The only downside is, you will need to sign out and back in any iOS device using your Apple ID.

Be interested to find out if it works for you too.

OP's sister here... I have sharing set up with other friends no problem already. It's just not connecting with my brothers activity.

I think it will be his Apple ID that is the issue then. You won't both need to change it, just him. When I changed mine, I then connected to three friends without a problem.

I have researched the problem, and this method worked for me. For some people an un-pair and re-pair of the Watch works, but that's more hassle than changing the email address associated with the Apple ID.

Yeah, and in-pair and repair is what helped me be able to connect to another friend I was having issues with. And I have tried that again with these issues and it hasn't helped. I'll check with my brother to see if he's tried repairing it yet! Thanks!
