Yeah, kinda depends on what the consumer likes...:D
I like the way the ribcage is popped out, it seems it would help protect the Touch more. At least thats what the consumer in me says. ;)
 
Remember the Rebel Touch you recommended I get? Well, it's on my iPod now and it's amazing, and I can vouch that it absorbs the shock of a drop.

Question about the Rebel Touch. I put my ipod in a dock almost every night (I use it as an alarm), does the case seem like it could handle the stress of being removed/ put on daily? Cuz I had a case that broke after too many times of doing this...

You would not need to remove it every time you need to dock it. If its too thick it has a dock adapter.

You asked for a answer and i gave you one... sorta. I think it could stand it for a while (but like i said before it would be a pain), and would eventually break.
