Running a Imac with latest version of Yosemite. The past week; I've been getting annoying pop ups from what appears to be an ad service that highlights key words on anything that I'm working on/reading. This is only when I'm on the internet through a browser (Chrome). I have run a full scan using Avast and Malwarebytes with negative results. I have checked my extension list in Chrome and have found nothing suspicious.
Has anyone heard of this annoying bug; and how can I get rid of it?

Right after I posted my question; I tried Safari; and no it doesn't happen there.
Still having the same problem. Kijiji is the worst. Seems every ad has at least one keyword highlighted. Just rolling the mouse over the word brings up an annoying ad. Another annoying occurrence is; clicking on a web address and you get taken to an advertiser's page. Only after clicking a second time on that address will you be taken to the proper page.

I did some research/reading; and one suggestion was that google was possibly behind this in conjunction with Adblock; were as Adblock agreed to free certain words up for the posting of ads. I'm going to uninstall Adblock and see what happens.

First uninstalled Adblock; that didn't do a thing. Than uninstalled Chrome; that worked. Now; it would be nice to know what caused the problem in the first place! So; I don't do what I did to cause it again!!!

Thanks for your reply. I already had Malwarebytes installed and it didn't detect or prevent the Malware from installing. What I did was uninstall Chrome and reinstall; problem solved.
