I want to save myself some $$ and need a better mic than the internal mic on my iMac. I have a Sony ECM-HW1R Wireless Microphone that attached to its long since dead camera with the Sony Active Interface. It consists of a receiver, the HW1R with the Active interface and a lavaliere mic so that one can get live audio from a moving subject.
It seems to me that there must be some adapter or workaround so that the mic can be used with the iMac either via the record/headset 3.5 4 Pole jack or via thunderbolt or usb. But that exhausts my technical vocabulary and I'm getting nowhere with my search.
Does anybody know either what to do or who would know what to do?
