[app]Adaptunes[/app] v1.1 has been released. This version brings a ton of changes, the most notable of which is support for volume control based on motion instead of just speed. This means that you can use Adaptunes to control volume during low-speed activities such as walking, jogging, or stationary exercise -- even on iPod touch!

Also included are the ability to add, delete, and customize profiles. Full details of what has changed is below.

[app]Adaptunes[/app] will only be on sale for $0.99 for a few more days, so grab it while it's cheap!

NEW FEATURES
  • Motion-based control for iPod touch and iPhone
  • Ability to add and delete profiles
  • Profile editor
    - Set how much influence motion has on volume
    - Adjust motion sensitivity
  • New profile types for jogging and exercising
  • Playlist saves between sessions
  • Selected profile saved between sessions
  • Smoother volume changes
  • Shuffle and repeat buttons
  • Volume returns to normal level when exiting
  • New option to prevent sleep mode
  • Minor interface tweaks

BUG FIXES
  • Selecting a song from the playlist tab with shuffle on now plays the song you selected instead of a random song
  • Various crash fixes

Awesome app, but it still doesn't work with my bluetooth headset. Is it even possible to make it work?

I really hope the developers figure it out.

Correct, it is not possible. Some headsets and docks seem to work, others don't. Generally, if you can change your volume using your iPhone/iPod, then Adaptunes can change it for you. If you need to adjust volume on your dock/headset/car stereo, it can't.

That's because docks and car stereos use the line output instead of the amplified (headphone) output. Therefore the dock/car stereo controls the volume instead. Why it wouldn't be able to control the volume over BT headphones I'm not sure because that is built into the standard.

This is correct. It's unfortunate, but there's nothing to be done about it.

As for Bluetooth, we're not really sure why the iPhone isn't controlling volume on Bluetooth headsets. We suspect Apple just hasn't written in support for every headset. We've gotten some reports of it working, but haven't received a response when we asked which Bluetooth devices it works with. If anyone has had success with a Bluetooth device please let us know so we can compile a list of compatible devices.

This is a definite 'first page' app for me. Being able to remove and add profiles is a nice touch.

Sale Ended
