For months (since new) I'd been experiencing daily crashes and freezes especially while using Preview (M3). It got so bad that on occasion it would freeze upon start up and to shut it down I had to pull the plug. While using Preview, it was especially problematic, having to force quit every time once sometimes 2-3 times during, say, a 2 hour session. Not every day, but certainly the majority of the time. I'm using Chrome, and scrolling for example the home page, it would severely hang and sutter. I was convinced this thing was a lemon, and a total waste of money, on par with a Windows machine from a big box retailer.

It was very frustrating, but a search said that maybe an extension was misbehaving, and indeed, once I deleted it (Ad Block), this computer runs absolutely flawlessly.

So if you have similar problems, check your extensions. I don't know the "why" of it and there's hardly any difference because I don't really see any increase in ads without it, which tells me AB+ is mostly a data collecting app.

Have you checked their privacy policy? Most data collection apps are very open about it in the privacy policy because they know no one reads the pages of fine print.

I haven’t used this app but I’m very cautious about ad blocking and so called antivirus or security software. Both require access to everything you’re doing so it’s easy for them to gather data

I stopped recommending them in general a while ago. Ublock Origin is good as far as I can tell, and I also like NoScript for Firefox/Waterfox
