Add event in iCal, make it appear on iCloud?

I'm confused...right now, when I add an event in iCloud it does appear in iCal.

When I add one in iCal, it doesn't in iCloud. Note that nothing is in my iCal; it's drawing every event from iCloud.

Any idea how to make it so when I add an event in iCal, it'll go to iCloud?

When adding the event in iCal, under the setting for the event, are you clicking to add it to your iCloud Calendar, not just the calendar stored on your mac? This might solve the issue. Hope I helped.
