Hello,
TL;DR:
I have an unlocked iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.2 with +15k images and videos from 2012-2014. I want to add these to my image gallery on my main iPhone, but so that it keeps its metadata and adds itself to the oldest part of the timeline. My current timeline starts in 2014.
I have access to an old MacBook, last online 2018 with iTunes installed.
---
I recently noticed on a trip down memory lane that my images on my current iPhone/iCloud account stopped in the middle of 2014. I have had an iPhone since 2010, and it made me wonder where my old photos ended up. After some digging, I found my old iPhone 4, and after finding the old cable it booted after charging for 20-40 minutes. It was a blast from the past. I even managed to unlock it with a code so its fully unlocked.
Now comes the tricky part. It has +15k images and videos that I would love to add to my gallery so that the images keep their metadata such as date. The iPhone 4 is running iOS 7.1.2, so Airdrop is not a thing as it is only support from iPhone 5 and up.
I also found an old MacBook that was last online in 2018, and it has the good old iTunes installed. Can this be of help?
For the record, the iPhone 4 is signed into the same Apple ID as I am using today.
I have not connected the iPhone 4 or the old MacBook to the internet.
Does anyone here have a good suggestion to how I can migrate this data to my current iCloud images? If possible, I would love to also migrate my notes from the old iPhone into my iCloud notes, but the images are the main priority.
Could it be as simple as just syncing to iCloud? I doubt that it would work from iOS 7 still and would hate to mess something up. Like start resyncing my new images onto the old iPhone etc.
Really hope someone can help me out with how to tackle this challenge. Thanks!
