Add notes in keynote for ipad?

Hello.

What im planning to use the ipad for is a small amount of note taking in school.
The teacher uploads powerpoints to out database and the student download these presentations in school.
In MS Powerpoint there is this "notes" area underneath the actual slide, which I use for notes.

Is this note space available in keynote for the iPad?

Unfortunately, no. To make matters worse, it also strips any presenter notes in the document during the import process.
