My iMac has to have its screen replaced under the AppleCare warranty (dust behind the glass panel, bottom left and bottom right of the screen, as well as pinkish discolouring on the sides). The Apple authorised service agent in my area has confirmed they will do this.
While the unit is opened, I would like them to add an existing SSD that I already have, a 1TB Crucial MX500, to the iMac, presumably using an existing SATA connector. The unit already has a 500GB Apple PCIe SSD installed.
My question: Does the iMac have a SATA III connector to add the second SSD, over and above the PCIe SSD already installed? I have not been able to get an answer for this online. The service agent also has not yet responded.
