Add signature in Preview from image file

I need to send a PDF with my signature and a friend's. He sent me a PNG of his signature and I would like to add it to the Annotations->Signature tool in Preview but it only lets me add signatures from the trackpad, from the camera (but this works very poorly I tried printing his signature on paper and getting it but fails), and from the iPhone (used like the trackpad).

Is there a way to add the image from a file???

Put the PDF into Pages(if you have it), add the signature image and then Export the Pages doc as a PDF.
