I can't believe this hasn't been resolved, it's the most frustrating part of iCloud Music Library for me.

Yesterday I added about 5 albums to iTunes on my iMac using "Add to library". After adding them I clicked on each of the albums and selected "Add to iCloud Music Library".

On my way to an appointment this morning I opened iTunes on my phone, and only 2 of the 5 albums showed up in my library.

I come home and open iTunes on my iMac. Sure enough, 3 of the 5 albums were not added to iCloud Music Library. Once again, I choose "Add to iCloud Music Library" from the menu. I see the icon next to each song change to a cloud without a line through it, indicating that it is being added. However, almost immediately after that the songs go right back to having a cloud with a line through it—which shows that they weren't uploaded.

This has been going on for years and it's still not fixed. No idea why it has to be so difficult. It should just work.

Any ideas?

What does the column "iCloud Status" say? It will have something like "Matched", "Uploaded", etc.
Are you on the current version of iTunes?

I just ripped a cd yesterday, and had no problem adding them to my ICML.

Okay, feeling a little silly. Turns out the stuff that didn't upload was only 64 kbps, which can't be added to iTunes Music Cloud. I had to convert to AAC at 128 kbps, and then it worked.

You should delete it and then re-rip it at 256kbps. 64kbps is below POOR quality and why iCML will not upload it. 64kbps should only be used for speech recording and not music.

These were spoken word recordings from a public talk that I downloaded. Unfortunately I have no control over the original quality.
