Add user to Intel iMac and Migrate account from M3 MBA

I want to add my daughter as a user to my Intel iMac running Sequoia. She has an M3 MBA with all her stuff on it.

My plan is to first create an account for her on the iMac and then use Migration Assistant to move her stuff to the iMac.

She has a current Time Machine backup on an SSD. Can I connect the TM SSD to the iMac to perform the Migration?

Don't create an account, Migration Assistant will move it for you.

DON'T "create the account first" !!
Do this and you may end up with permissions problems.

Instead, connect the tm backup.
Open migration assistant.
Give it some time to "digest" everything.

When done, MA presents you with "a list" of stuff to migrate.
I'll guess that the ONLY thing you need to migrate is the daughter's account, so...
... UNCHECK everything EXCEPT your daughter's account, and then, let MA go to work.

Shouldn't take long.
