Add words to auto-correct library?!

Is there a way to add words to the auto-correct library?

I can type so much faster than my iPhone 3G can display on the screen, and it constantly annoyingly auto-corrects txt msg abbreviations! (layin changed to Latin, so on...)

Can I delete the word Latin and add layin?
