Added second Optical LG BR 12 X DVD drive & it keeps cycling?

I know I saw something on this before, but now cannot find it.

My second BR DVD drive ( LG 12 X BR Drive) I installed keeps cycling spinning if left empty every few minutes, if I put a CD into it, then it always wants to open when restarting or shutting down. Am I missing something, or must I live with this scenario?

I have followed this closely and never seen a resolution to this other than replacing the drive with a different one or keeping a disc in the drive.

if I put a CD into it, then it always wants to open when resorting of the like.

I have no idea what you meant to say there.

My WH10LS30 used to do this but after Feb~Mar. after a Mac OSX 10.6.8 update it stopped all of a sudden? Or could it be my CDs & DVDs Pref. ?? I do not know why but the drive is empty and never seeks for disc???

I changed my settings to ignore vs open in finder in cd / dvd preferences.

See what happens

What do you mean by running for the App? I have it but confused?
