Well, the reviews seem to indicate it should work with a MacBook Pro, but you have to be careful with RAM that's not guaranteed to work with your Mac. If it doesn't work with your MBP but works in general, you'll have to pay a restocking fee at newegg. If it's worth the risk, I say go for it. If not, get RAM from a company that certifies their RAM will work in Macs, like crucial.com or datamem.com.

I have RAM from newegg in my Mini right now, and it works fine, but the risk isn't for everyone.

Dont get RAM from NEW Egg!
You can buy Almost ANYthing else from them at a great price but the RAM they sell is Rarely Mac Compatible. If you have to send it back they charge a 15% restocking fee as well.

I Use Crucial.com to find out exactly the type I need & then get it from another retailer.

Buy from a reliable mac RAM reseller:
Macsales.com(OWC) - have lifetime warranty with great prices.
Chipmerchant.com - very reliable
Crucial.com - expensive but lifetime warranty

It just seemed like 80$ is such a great steal for a gig of RAM! Anywhere else even close to this with a gaurantee? From the reviews there haven't been any complaints and I ordered my last stick of RAM from here and it worked fine. What are the chances that it wouldn't work?

I did the same thing you are planing on doing but I didnt buy my ram from newegg. here is the link to where I got my ram. It works great and I had no problems installing it.

Well, I think Macs are getting better at accepting generic memory now that they're using much more common components, like Intel motherboards. I suspect that if other people were able to successfully use the RAM in their Macs, you won't have any problems either. Again, I use RAM from newegg in my Intel Mini without any problems, so if you're willing to take a chance, I'd say go for it.

I just bought two gigs of that exact memory and it works perfectly in my macbook! I'd say go for it!

I just ordered my MBP with the stock 1gb stick of RAM. I want to max it out with another gig stick. I was looking around and found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231066. Just wondering if anyone has an comments on this RAM, or just in fact that it will work with my 15" MBP? THanks

Have you received your MBP yet?

Mind letting us know what module Apple uses for that 1GB stock in your stock configuration? Is it a Crucial module?

I ended up ordering the one from newegg specified in my first post. It is supposed to arrive today. My MBP also shipped last night, so I'll give that a few days to get here. I'll def let everyone know about the RAM in it already! Thanks again
