What's wrong with summerboard? The latest beta works perfectly (and uses apple's springboard scrolling to boot!)... So it's just springboard with a background and icons you can customize ;)

Same here. Many crashes with the latest SummerBoard (*not* the one on installer - that one just acts psycho) running on 1.1.1. I've replaced it with iSwitcher, so I have my icons ... the only other thing I really want is a background image.

Still researching that ...

I've been using the latest beta of SummerBoard and I've been demoing my iTouch to friends, coworkers etc and not one crash so far.

I figured out why I crashed. I set the permissions right on the plist file, however, simply dragging over the app to the app folder isnt the best of ideas. I used independence this time, which properly sets the permissions.

Works perfectly, no crashes!!! 1.1.1 completely stable and looking good!!

Ok, Summerboard IS buggy... I swear to you and if you have trip1pogo installed at the same time, its EVEN more buggy.

The optimal solution would be to be able to change the background image without using summerboard. Also, do a manual jailbreak so that you understand what you are talking about.

If you have your applications folder symlinked, it will cause crashes as well esp. if you have native ipod apps in the same folder as your 3rd party apps.

also, summerboard has a power management issue that will randomly kick wifi dependent apps.

Ive heard tons of people say summerboard works fine to come back the next day to say that it crashes everything...

Good luck!
