Is it possible to add a blu ray drive and gets its full R/RW capabilities?

Not using Mac OS X. It has no drivers for Blu-ray playback so it wouldn't work at all. The closest thing you can do is buy an external Blu-ray drive and install Windows using Boot Camp. Windows does have Blu-ray support. But no, as I said you won't be able to do it with OS X.

apple is always demanding their options with what they want, not want you want , it's the way of their business so that instead you buy blue-ray movies, you buy hd movies on their itunes store
so good luck with the external drive my friend, apple now is accessing the way of the pc

Yeah, no way to watch movies, but you can use Blu-Ray for data backup on a Mac. Not sure of the iMac support, but I suppose you would just need to find a drive that fits physically. External may be the way to go (although I know you were interested in internal drives).
Edit: Here is an internal drive, but the cost is a staggering $999!
