The answer is -- simply -- NO.

The memory that comes with it is all you will ever have to use.

So... CHOOSE WISELY when you purchase.

My recommendation remains:
DO NOT buy ANY m-series Mac with only 8gb of RAM.
Get 16 (or 18) as your "minimum".

If you choose to ignore this advice, I predict that you will find yourself unhappy sooner rather than later...

Yes, but I intend to keep this M3 till it's no longer supported via Software and Hardware. That's probably 7 or more years of use. So I maxed it Ram and Storage.
If you can afford it, maxing out both is the way to go. If you can only afford one then, I suggest maxing out RAM. You can always add external storage later on.
