iPod Adding music to new Ipod nano

I'm so new to ipod nano that it hurts LOL. I tried updating itune to 8.0 but I get a windows error that I need an update. An update I cant do. Tks Bill!!

Anyway... is there another way to add music? Is syning the only way? My new nano looks great but I'd like to try it out. Can jailbreak be used on nano's...
