Adding new user with Time Machine backup

My wife has gone to only using her iPad. I bought an external HD and did a Time Machine backup and then wiped the internal HD and sold it to her sister.

I have added her as an additional user on our iMac. How do I get her time machine backup to show up as 'her' HD so when she signs in her iTunes, photos etc to show up?

Go to system settings, select users and groups and unlock the padlock with your password, click the + button and add a new user.

Then go up to Apple icon and logout and login using the new user password. I then used the external hard drive through the Time Machine backup and restored from there. So when my wife logs in all her stuff is there just like it was on her laptop.
