Adding RAM

Hi! Yesturday i bought an aluminum 24" iMac with 1Gb of ram(my first Mac), but i want extend to 4 Gb. My question is if with adding ram, will it make my Mac slower become hot? And is this normal that my Mac after a hour of work becomes warm in its upside?

Adding additional RAM to your iMac is a good thing. I've maxed mine out at 4GB and it's really fast. As far as the temperature thing goes, the new aluminum design is not only cool looking but the aluminum ( as opposed to plastic) case is meant to help in cooling it as aluminum is a better conductor than plastic. The area you mention ( the upper left, in the back) is the area where you can feel the most warmth on it. Depending on how much work you're putting the iMac through, it can range in cool to very warm but never hot to the touch.

I have 4GB Ram in my iMac 2.8Ghz Alum, it too gets quite warm - but i'm not worried. It's fast, stable, and a beauty!! Enjoy! :)
 
Add RAM to my old mini MAC

Hi,
I have an "old" mini Mac that is a littel to slow.....:mad:
The model is Mac mini, PowerPC G4 (1.2), 1.42 GHz, with 256 MB RAM. I would like to add more RAM but can´t get help from Apple - is there some of you that have added RAM to you Mac mini? I am looking fore type, prize osv.

Just added 4 gig to my 24 iMac

It is much much faster and snappier if that makes sense... Im running VMware Fusion (XP) in the background and when i had 1 gig, it lagged abit switching from Mac to Win... but now.. its just a click away.. no wait period
