iPod Adding shared songs to my ipod

I think i am networked with the main computer of the house and i can listen to the music through the shared library but the main computer is running panther and my computer is running lepored and i have an ipod classic )which will not show up on panther)
the main computer has all the songs on it (about 8,500) i cannot transfer the songs manually to my computer
is it possible to get the songs from the main computer that runs panther onto my ipod classic?

while you are able to listen to the shared library, you are not able to put them on your ipod-- kind of stinks, but that's the way it is-- only way to get them would be to download them to the computer running leopard and put them on the ipod-- sorry
