There are a few songs that I would like to add to my playlist that Apple Music doesn't have. Most were there at one time, but have been replaced by re-recorded version for whatever reasons or just outright pulled from the service. I have mp3s of most of the songs that I am missing and I used to have a built in HDD in my old car which is what I used. My new car has built in CarPlay so I just stream now.

Is there a way to upload the songs to my library on my Mac and have them avaliable to stream on iPhone and other devices? I would prefer to be able to stream them and have them be a part of my existing playlists of other songs from Apple Music if possible.

Apple Music includes iTunes Match, so just add those songs to your library and Music will automatically upload them so that they’re available in iCloud. It may take a bit for Music to get around to it; but if you’re feeling impatient, there’s an update library command I think in the file menu. Once the files are matched in iCloud, you’ll be able to add them along with Apple Music songs to the same playlists.

Apple Match is a separate subscription ($20/year), but it integrates with Apple Music.

You can buy it separately if you don’t have a Music subscription, but if you do it is definitely included and there’s no need to have both.

I want to do this, but I don’t trust iCloud Music Library or iTunes Match lol I feel like my songs and artwork would get messed up.

so I’m just going to continue manually syncing and whatever isn’t in my library, I will stream on Apple Music and download it from some site later and manually sync again.

From my experience, if there is a version of "the song by the artist on the album" already in Apple Music you can definitely upload the different version you have. However, when you stream it you will not definitely hear your uploaded version. Been a while since I tried anything like that, though.
