Hey

iMac 27" 2015 model
I know that the iMac have a bay for 3.5" drive, my question is
If someone ordered the iMac from Apple directly with 512GB SSD, can we add another drive inside, or like past machines Apple removed the SATA connector ?

Regards

I'm an Apple tech, and done the drive replacement dozens of time, not worried about the work, Have a client that is asking. never had one that came with the Apple SSD.

Just wanted to know if the ports are their
Regards

In theory yes can have a HDD/SSD and a blade drive.

But if your a tech why ask the general user base for help?
Some here're tech too but most are users.

I believe the 2014 and 2015 machines have a blade SSD port and a sata port for 3.5" drive.

try looking on ifixit.com site for guides of replacing HDD or blade

@elf69 , Did that already, but Apple has a tendency to eliminate the apart when not needed, see Time Capsule units, the AirPort extreme is the same board as the time capsule, minus the SATA port
