Additional fans 2006 Mac pro

Hey people,

Does anyone now if there are available power ports on Mac pro 1,1 logic board for some additional fans, without running cables down from the optical drives.

You can use HDD SATA power connector with SATA -> Molex adapter if you have one unused.

I'm going to replace the heatsinks on my processors with better ones, and the ones I want to get have fans!

Hey there, sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I was hoping you might be able to shed some light on how successful this endeavour was?

I'd love upgrade my Octo '08 to some Noctua heatsinks...
But not sure if its even possible?
