Would anyone be able to explain why and how to fix this minor problem on my address book- when I enter a birthday, it automatically formats it to the current month. i.e. the birthday is december 5, 1973 and no matter how I enter it, it formats to 5 octobre 2005. I find it terribly annoying because I can't figure out why it does that! Any ideas?

Go into the International System Preference and then click on the Formats tab and see if the date is set to display the way you want it. Other than that, I wouldn't have a clue as to why its doing that...

Did you try this:

  1. Open Address Book (in your Applications folder) and make sure you've created an address card with birthday information for each person's birthday that you want to track.
For more information about adding birthday information, open Address Book and choose Help > Address Book Help.
  2. In iCal, Choose iCal > Preferences.
  3. In the General pane, select the "Show Birthdays calendar" checkbox.
