Just hear me out..

Anyone else think this whole Adele thing is a load of horse ****? Adele comes back from out of nowhere, drops a new album and all of a sudden she is top everything, breaking records and god knows what else. I just find it all very fishy. Why? I know it's subjective but here new songs, aren't that good. They really aren't. Not 2.5 million copies sold good.

Is it just me?

I don't think there's anything weird going on. It's just good timing, good marketing, and it appeals to those outside of the demographics that other pop music is targeted to these days.

21 sold 11 million copies in the US alone...

Its just you.

Thats because it is subjective. Plenty of people loved 21 (and 19) and now love 25.. Personally I love the album, it has stellar songs.

21 was absouetlly massive in 2011/2012 so wait a couple of years for hype to build up and you get a blockbuster, not to mention Adele has a huge appeal to a wide range of audiences, young to old and even to those that don't usually buy music.

Some people in these forums simply don't understand how popular Adele is because they don't care for her. But out in the real world she has massive appeal. She just appeared on SNL, is plastered everywhere, has been mentioned on the news a few times and is front and center on iTunes. The numbers are real. 25 is a runaway success.

It just seemed weird to me. It all happened so fast. I loved 21. 25 not so much.

It's just you. As others have already mentioned she has a pretty broad appeal and is an extremely popular artist. I think a lot of people out there have been waiting for a her to release a new album. I agree 25 is not as strong as her previous efforts although Hello is an awesome song. It's still a great album though. Her voice alone sells albums never mind the actual songs them selves.
