I have the paid, standalone version of AdGuard on 4 different Macs - 1x install on High Sierra, 2x on Mojave, 1x on Catalina. Have not had any issues, nor has it ever been one.

What problems?
When AdGuard is active, Mac freeze every 2-3 days:
- Safari not load open anything. Other browsers work ok
- everything freeze, first app start to slow down and then whole system is freeze. I need to force restart my Mac (power button)

Why the post about reboots?
You can see the pattern.. when AdGuard is active Mac reboots often, every 2-3 days. When it is disabled uptime is +6 days

Now AdGuard is disabled and uptime is 6 days 23 hours.
so I am pretty sure that problem is AdGuard.

Is AdGuard still using that outdated fake VPN connection?
On iOS, yes. Network Extension on macOS.

Or some interaction between AdGuard and other software or settings on your Mac.

AdGuard for Mac works well for me.

You use AdGuard for Mac, but your web site says "P.S please turn off your ad blocker, thank you!" 😉

I've installed mine in a Docker container on my Synology NAS which covers all devices in my network/house, I think it can even be installed on a RPi, saves having to worry about any software issues on the machines?

There are multiple Adguard products.

You have installed Adguard for Home - a DNS resolver which uses block lists to deny (or modify) access via DNS requests. I have the same running on my RPi. Provides great protection at the DNS level. It is very similar to Pi-Hole, but with neater packaging and management.

AdGuard for Mac provides protection at the HTTP level. This is a more detailed and nuanced protection than AdGuard for Home. But only for HTTP/HTTPS. I have this running on my Macs.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.
