Admin account

I was reading somewhere that I shouldn't always be logged on to the admin account. Somwhere there was a guide to changing the account. Or something similiar to that. But I lost it I was wondering if someone could help me out, thanks.

In System Preferences > Accounts

Create a new Administrator user login account
Logout and login as new user
Remove adminstrator rights from your original login
logout and login as original login, now use this with less fear.

OS X security is pretty good, but this is one additional, near-zero-additional-hassle layer that does improve your security further.

When you need to install apps or do other things which needs administrator access, the Mac will prompt you for an administrator level user ID and password. This is all the additional 'hassle' that you need to go through. A very far cry from Windows I have to say, and one of the really good things about OS X.
