i just obtained a hand-me-down iMac that I installed Snow Leopard on. I then ran an update and upgraded to El Capitan. This is my second go 'round with this and I am hoping to get an answer to a question before it comes up (again.). I will be using the Migration Assistant to bring over the data from my old Windows PC. The last time I did this, it created a second account with my name, which was also listed as Admin, and I could not find any of my data. What am I doing wrong?
The reason this is the second try is that I thought if I Migrated my info during setup, I'd end up with just one user. Sadly, migrating from a PC to a Mac is not an option. Fine.
1. Is there harm in having two "Catherine-admin" accounts?
2. Does it make a difference which apps/programs I use on either user?
3. Where will all of my PC data move to on my Mac? (Photos were not in the Photos app, there were no files with my docs and spreadsheets. The only things I could see were the docs that started on my PC desktop which were now on my Msc desktop.) I thought something bad happened during migration so I started over.
