i don't usually hang around in the design & graphics forum, so forgive me if this has already been covered.

is adobe acrobat 8 (the pdf creator, not the reader) expected anytime soon? i'm not in a rush to buy the software and i'm not exactly sure i want to pay such a high premium, but knowing whether or not an updated version is on its way out would help when making the final decision.

thanks!

I believe the plan was for Acrobat late this year to be followed by Creative Suite 3 sometime in the first half of next year. I don't know if that still holds true though...

Acrobat, so far, has been on a different update schedule from CS. If the past is any indication, I think it's a few months ahead of Creative Suite, which could place it somewhere later this year. With that said, version 7 is really good and is worth buying. I can't tell you how much aggravation and time has been saved for me by having the ability to change the color modes of PDFs in Acrobat. If you have an Intel Mac, though, and aren't in a rush, you may want to wait for 8.
