Adobe Acrobat Pro DC issue with fillable forms

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2020.013.20074

When I attempt to fill in a form, the following happens:

Just to be sure, did you try to fill it on Preview?
I recall having received some forms that erased the fields' contents when I clicked in controls or checkboxes (but using Preview). Someone told me at the time that they were generated with an old version of Acrobat. Saving the form after filling each field worked but was very annoying.

No, I also read that but I opened the form directly in Adobe
