the Register reports that Adobe has some OS X native apps comming very soon... and some not so soon...

"Two separate sources suggest that it's not too far off. The code is currently in "fairly late" and "mid-to-late" beta testing, and we reckon Adobe is on course to announce the product at Macworld Expo San Francisco early next January. That event will, says an emailer who claims to be an Adobe staffer, mark the arrival and announcement of almost all of Adobe's key applications, including InDesign 2, Adobe's DTP software; digital video editing package Premiere; and LiveMotion..."

"OS X-native versions of its other applications will ship within the next six months."

but is is just a rumor...

"An Adobe spokeswoman itself described the details as "completely inaccurate""

I hope its true... I would love to work with PhotoShop in X

Once I have inDesign (1st quarter 2002), illustrator (now), FCP (Before year's end i hope)and Photoshop.
then I will no longer need classic.
Call in Jabba the Hut,
I will be carbonized.
 
Yes,and I hope Macromedia will release Dreamweaver and Flash for Mac OS X,that,and few more games are enough for me.
Tell me,i have iMac g3350/128 megs,and classic looks about 25% or even more slower then real macos 9,is that because i have only 128mb of ram or thats the way it is?

Classic mode runns slower in X than booting in to OS 9 because you are running in emulation... sort of. Your running a OS ontop of another one. Its going to runn a little slower. Get some more RAM! RAM is cheep now.. you can get generic stuff for $30 a stick of 512. Im up to 1.2gigs and every thing runs very nicely. Classic boots in seconds. OS X loves RAM and it uses all of it. In X, ram is allowcated dynamicly on the fly so your apps get what they need when they need it, and when your not punching big numbers the RAM can be used some place else. Like in 9... when you allowcate a bucket of RAM for Photoshope... its a hog, You did just that... you gave up all your RAM. Not so in X.
 
I read today on railheaddesign.com that Adobe is releasing new beta versions of Photoshop and GoLive to developers this week. Also, Macromedia is releasing a new beta of Dreamweaver to developers. Now, some of you may think this is hogwash, but this guy is usually right on. I think he's a software developer, but I'm not really sure. I know he gets the seeds of OS X, though, and he gets in trouble for posting pictures of what's to come in future releases.

Anyway, he also says that Photoshop and GoLive may be ready for demo-ing in early January, but there's no telling if they might surprise us and release it before Christmas. Who knows? Wishful thinking, I guess...
 
Carbon PShop

When the next Photoshop is released it will be Carbon. But I expect to see a Cocoa version soon as it is so fast and much more stable.
