Anyone else experiencing issues. After sleep, I am sporadically getting crashes when launching ANY CC program.

Not every time, but 80% of launches are crashing the whole system. It stutters, becomes sluggish and then unresponsive eventually shutting itself down entirely. Never happens after the system has been off and back on. Only a sleep.

This is my latest panic from just now:

Happens to me too, but in a slightly different way. "It stutters, becomes sluggish and then unresponsive" if I use the Path tool in Photoshop for an hour or so. Sometimes I have to do cutouts the old way and not the AI driven inaccurate selections  and this takes time. But Photoshop simply can't handle it anymore. In the meantime I use Affinity where I can.
I have a Vega Pro II duo in my Mac. I simply can't use it productively at the moment because of that. I already described in the Adobe Forum how my freeze and crash can be repeated 100%. Until now there was no feedback for a fix.
I've made som Videos too. Maybe you could copy my steps and test if it happens to you too. And then you could write in the adobe forum your results also.
Adobe Forum Thread

I could assume that all those who have a Macpro 2019 only edit video and do not use Adobe CC in all day manner. So far there are very few who write about their problems. But now you Know you are not alone with this problem.

I'll have a look and see if I get this.

I have a 2019 Mac Pro and use Photoshop multiple times a day. I've not seen any issues yet. Certainly no shutdowns or kernel panics.

Mine is base spec (580X/8Core/32GB).

No problems with Photoshop/Bridge here. Spent an hour last night doing paths in PS and didn't have an issue. Only time I have had kernel panics was on the day I received my Mac Pro, had sleep issues and random kernel panics. Not sure what it was, Apple support couldn't help, but I reset my monitor (BenQ SW271 via USB C) to factory default and I haven't had an issue since then.

Mac Pro 7,1 with 12 Core, 96GB, and 580x

Edit: just realized you might be asking for info about the W5700X specifically, sorry I can't help with that!

Great...one more reason for me to put purchasing a 7.1 with W5700X on the back-burner!

I have the money finally saved up, but I make my living primarily in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign with some After Effects and FCPX. If I wanted to fight with all these Adobe/Apple bugs I am reading about (among others), I can already do that on my 5,1 for about $12,000 less. My only compelling reason for buying a 7,1 would be the ability to run the latest supported OS with increased compatibility with Adobe apps. I have them somewhat stabilized on my 5,1, but they launch and sometimes open and save files dog-slow.

I don't expect perfection - there will always be some issues, but I can't believe Adobe cannot get their act together with Apple. I have spent a fortune with both over the past 30 years and at no point in time have I not had some issue where Adobe and Apple point the finger at each other as the cause.

choreo, yeah, I guess nothing's perfect. However, it is already very annoying when you spend so much money on this machine. Then it doesn't feel good if the apps are still unreliable half a year later. But I still have my old MacPro 5.1 as my main computer. I'm still waiting for Octane X and Redshift (overdue) to change properly.
Anyway, changing the color/Hue/saturation for example in Photoshop is definitely not working in Photoshop at the moment if you have the rulers turned on. So if you destructively take the menu command from the top bar and don't create an effect layer. Such things happen, ok. But it's annoying.
As for my bug, I tested it with 10.15.4 and PS 21.1.2 and then with 10.15.5 and PS 21.1.3 and both times frozen in Photoshop after an hour path clicking/panning/zomming. I also tested an RX480 just to be sure the Vega is ok. The only other thing is the graphics driver, has the W5700X other Basedrivers because of the newer tech (RNDA)? I changed a few standard settings though. And view Pixelgrid is off, also.
RackMultipart20200522-72861-1avshz9-Bildschirmfoto_2020-05-22_um_11.11.33.png

So it might not be the graphics card. But I can only confirm this when Adobe contacts me.
I also made two hardware tests. One was the Apple standard diagnostic mode "D" and the other was TechToolPro 12. No problems and everything passed.

Pathtool freeze full Video. On a clean new install :)

Same issue here. MacPro7,1, 16-core, W5700X. Three crashes in 36 hours of new and just as described -- the system becomes sluggish, then hangs (except can move the cursor around for a bit at first, until you cannot), and then crash.

The most recent crash occurred just as I was opening Adobe Illustrator CC for the first time. The one before that happened as I was installing Grammarly.

I ran the Apple factory test (reboot, press 'D') and no issues. Also ran stress memory and storage stress tests and, again, no issues.

Full disclosure that I have the Accelsior 4m2 and replaced 32GB factor ram w/ OWC. If the issue continues, will remove aftermarket components and see if run into a crash -- at this rate, shouldn't take long.

Until I saw this thread, I regretted my decision not to configure more factory storage and RAM instead of aftermarket. Still, then, the entire point of replacing my iMac Pro w/ the Mac Pro was to be able to do precisely such things.

For folks w/ Accelsior 4m2, see this:

This issue didn't apply to me since I installed my card in slot 7, but could apply to others who picked slot 4 or 5.

This issue clearly has nothing to do with the addition of any additions to hardware as I have none apart from the system base and still have the issues.

Well, I don’t have a Mac Pro but a MacBook Pro 16” which also have a RDNA-based GPU and InDesign have been fairly flaky on that. Especially with crashes after closing InDesign when using an external monitor. My gut feeling is that the RDNA drivers and Adobe apps just doesn’t exactly love each other. 🥺

I think you may be right, or at least partially so .... Indesign used to wobble badly prior to the update if I was unwise enough to press the delete backwards key (spinning beachball, pause, then recover). Thankfully, seems fixed!

I installed the W5700x.

Am seeing slight, subtle glitches in both my monitors.... rarely, but still seeing them.

Also the machine takes longer to boot up with the 5700 than the 580x.

Whats your actual setup - which monitors, how are they attached? Maybe post a specific post about it as this was for issues speficially with the Mac Pro and Adobe issues. But it seems to have turned into generic issues across apple devices lol.

I would say make sure your software is upto date, your signature says you're running 10.15.4...

Returned my 16-core and replaced with a 24-core. Stayed with the W5700x. Just received today, installed my core apps, and w/in 10 min of working w/ AI, kernel panic. Again, system become unstable, freezes, and then gone.

This happened while working with a very simple SVG that I had loaded -- a favicon, consisting of just a few paths and a single layer. Performance is terrible considering what I'm working with -- panning the artboard results in laggy / jerky experience, w/ rubber band effect as tries to follow cursor. Not what I would expect from a $$$$$$$$$ machine!!

Oh well, I can only assume Adobe / Apple have got to know about this and will address -- in the mean time, I'll be using my MBP for any vector graphics work. Not ideal, but graphics art is not the primary use case for this machine, but for those where it is, best to be aware that there's clearly an issue w/ Adobe Illustrator running on 2019 Mac Pro 7.1, at least w/ W5700X config.

Great. I spend about 1/3 of my time in Illustrator and waiting for my Mac Pro 12-core w/W5700X to come in! If is does not run Illustrator, I have no use for it.

seeing some after sale purchases of the 5700. who plans on returning theirs?

Also for the folks with the 12-core doing video/photography work, do you wish you had purchased the 16-core instead? Just curious. (I've got the 12-core).

I upgraded from the 580 to the w5700x and touch wood haven’t had any panics fora few weeks actually since adobe released a whole load of updates. No never returning it. The 580 would struggle with the load I was putting on it. Or rather the projects demanded. Now it flies competitively.

Good to know, thanks. It's on my list.

Odd thing happened tonight (exactly 1 week into new MacPro 7.1 system). I was doing some dev work for a web frontend and loading in Chrome, and then the top part of page started pixelating as shown in attachment (just top of page view area -- not entire screen).

At the same time the fans started spooling up -- a little at first and then progressively faster. I closed Chrome and all was back to normal, but when I opened same page again, same deal, except screen artifacts too over the entire page view this time. System fan was what I assume is maxed based on how loud.

I soft rebooted system, but issue persisted. I hard rebooted system and it booted into recover mode, with no keyboard or mouse function -- so needed to go dig out an old USB keyboard / touchpad combo from storage so I could exit recovery mode. (Rebooting system w/ button or pulling power just put me back into recovery again -- so I needed to reboot from the recovery UI to get system to load as normal again).

All seems OK now, but unsettling to say the least -- esp. for such an expensive system. I will call Apple Support tomorrow. Posting back to this thread because seems like a graphic card issue (the browser pixelation issue). As for rebooting into recovery, perhaps due to dirty shutdown? Haven't run into before on other macOS systems.

I talked to Apple support today. The support engineered just listened as I talked through what I was experiencing and didn't ask any questions. Then he simply stated that "the issue is being worked on". He wouldn't elaborate or provide a timeline for a fix.

So, my takeaway is that this all but confirms there is an issue w/ the W7500X. It's good to know Apple is aware of it and working on a fix. Hopefully we will see it soon. I will need to decide over the next few days if I want to hold out hope for a fix, or return the system and replace w/ Pro Vega II configured system. I don't really need the GPU power of the Vega II (but nice to have), so not keen on spending the extra $$$ just to get a reliable system.

Great. I spend about 1/3 of my time in Illustrator and waiting for my Mac Pro 12-core w/W5700X to come in! If is does not run Illustrator, I have no use for it.

I use AI but my usage is pretty low in itself. Though I have opened some complex files never had a crash.

To add, my PS and Lightroom usage is pretty intensive and they are always running when I use AI.
