does anyone foresee any trouble running adobe cs premium on a 2.16 ghz 2 igi RAM c2d mbp/mb? (1. with respect to memory and 2. with respect to the intel chip?)

Which version of CS, the first one? All versions of Photoshop CS1 and CS2 will perform poorly on any intel machine. CS3, however, will perform fantastically well due to being a universal binary.
CS3 would run very well indeed on a 2.16Ghz 2GB RAM C2D machine.
CS3 runs very well on a MB. Even with the 1GB stock RAM, but obviously it's much better with 2GB. I run premium and it works beautifully. PS loads in about 3 seconds, AI about 7-8, and dreamweaver around 15. I don't do any hi-res work in PS, but I'm pretty confident that my MB would have enough grunt to handle that.
yes i have the cs first gen software.
before i invest in upgrading, could you please tell me:
approximately how slow will it be, say 1.5 times, 2 times, 10 times? a ballpark would do....

Errr... hmmm... I'd guesstimate that CS3 is approximately 5 times faster than CS2 on an Intel machine. I mean it makes a *big* difference, so much so that when the beta for CS3 came out, I sighed a big sigh of relief.
