I downloaded a trial version of Adobe Illustrator a couple of months ago, when my trial ran out i dragged everything related to Adobe Illustrator into the trash and then emptied it. Today i got CS3 Design Premium and when i tried to install the programs, it said that Illustrator was already installed on my computer!? so i installed the other programs with no problems, but couldn't find Illustrator on my computer. so i inserted the design premium disc again to try to uninstall or reinstall Illustrator since it thought that it was still on my computer.
I couldn't do anything to Illustrator, it would let me reinstall the other programs but not Illustrator, then i thought i would download the trial again and enter my serial number but adobe won't let me download the trial until July 1st! can anyone help me to get illustrator before then, or tell me what the problem is?

You can't just uninstall any component of CS3 by just trashing apps; there are hundreds of little bits and pieces of it all over your disk which is why the Read Me file is very clear about using the uninstaller in Utilities>Adobe Installers.

Best bet for now might be to use the CS3 Cleanscript.

should i uninstall my other programs that i installed from the cs3 design premium disc before using the clean script? and do i really need to backup files? has anyone here ever used it and lost files? im kinda freaking out about using it cuz i don't have anything to back my files up onto but dont wanna risk losing everything.

Ive used that utility a few times without anything wrong happening...
you should be fine by just running it, but you should have backups of everything anyone.

okay, now if i didn't want to risk it, if i just download the trial from adobe again and enter my serial number, will that also work?
