I've been using Dreamweaver MX for years, and now I'm finally considering upgrading. Is this a good time to buy, or should I wait for CS4 (or whatever the name will be?)? Is DW CS3 an intel native app yet?

Given the usual cycle of Adobe software I think it's safe to learn and buy the CS3 suite in its entirety.

CS4 won't be out till at least the middle of next year at the earliest.

yup. just echoing what the others have already said.. but yea dreamweaver CS3 is a pretty great program.

making the upgrade form MX you will find a lot of little tweaks to the editor both on the WYSIWYG side as well as the code side that you will love and make your webdev life that much easier.

and yea. CS4 wont happen for a while.

:D

For what its worth, back when Chizen was at Adobe the statement was made that release cycles were every 18 months. They are totally opposite of Apple and give as much transparency to the investors as to their roadmap. (or did)

So that would put us at around Oct, I suppose for an update by the Adobe group. Yes it may feel like its a 2 year release...not far off...especially with macs coming out at a faster rate than Adobe products, but it would seem this year you will hear the announcment (around Oct) of CS4.

It has been out since what, April of last year?

Tell you what...wait and you can get CS4 with Nehalem Macbook Pros. ;)
(Which basically have the frontside bus eliminated from it...sound cool? You bet!)

peace
