Hi Folks

What version of Adobe Flash Player are you using on your MBA's? Or in other words what version do you find gives the least fan noise when playing flash movies full screen?

Thanks

Sam.

The latest versions have the lowest CPU usage and support offloading to the GPU, so just go with that. There is no reason to use an older version.

Apple does not install flash by default on the Air, so i'm not sure what version you are talking about, Detrius.

You missed the joke about not installing any flash. I'm tempted to go this route when I pick up the new MBA; I don't use flash that much anyway now that I'm accustomed to life without it on my iPhone and iPad.

I find the version that is currently installed by Apple as the default is best.

How can you surf the internet without flash? I mean I don't have flash on my iPhone, but that's also why I don't have a full web experience with it. How are you gonna watch youtube videos, or videos in general without flash installed? Sure, some of them are in different forms but the vast majority of them still use flash. The only reason to disable flash is to block all those annoying advertisements, but still you lose so many things while surfing...

Most of the sites I visit have switched to html5 for video (YouTube included). There is a bit that I miss, and probably will install the latest Flash version for, but I'll closely monitor that resource sucker. My MBP battery life is 20% higher when Flash plug in isn't running.

Use ClickToFlash - it stops all flash content (including ads) from loading by default. If you decide you really do want to watch the flash content you just click on it and it loads: ClickToFlash
