Not sure which forum to pop this in.
Basically I'm a graphic designer specialising in shop frontage and signage. Use illustrator all the time. Have always said if a cut down or indeed full version of illustrator was available for the iPad, I'd buy one.
Can someone post a review of this app when you get your iPad working. I'm in Ireland and it'll probably be several weeks before I can check one out at an Apple store.
I'm curious to know if the app can import an Illustrator file created on my macbook pro and perform any kind of reasonable editing on that file.
As Iv'e said, the responses to this will be a deal maker or otherwise for me

Yes, please! I saw this on the front page and a cartoon "!" popped up over my head. This looks like the best parts of Flash's line-drawing tools, actually - no worries about points, beziers, etc. I'm very, very curious how this works.

And people are calling the Ipad a "consumption-only device." Ha. Between this and Sketchbook Pro, I can do quite a bit of "creation."

Currently you can't import artwork from Illustrator into Adobe Ideas. The other way around works. The output from Adobe Ideas is PDF which Illustrator can import. As can Photoshop. This is something we have been thinking about and its great to hear that you would find it useful.

Sudouest. It sounds like your'e involved in the development of this app. For professionals like myself, I would be happy to pay 50 or 60 bucks for a pro version of the app. As I mentioned, editing of illustrator files would be an enormous plus and the same for photoshop files. Maybe some way of accessing fonts already installed on my mac also. It wouldn't need the full range of features in Illustrator obviously. I'm going to buy an iPad anyway but will get one launch day in Ireland if the vibes are positive re Adobe ideas.
Very interested to hear your feedback

Photoshop and Illustrator for the iPad

I would certainly pay for an iPad application that would give me Photoshop and Illustrator like features.
