every time I open a pdf using my new macbook pro, adobe crashes. This happens on the parallel desktop too--the only time it doesn't do it is when I'm remotedly connected to work using citrix and open the pdfs on my remote desktop.

anyone else have this happen?

I also now know what to call the grey curtain--kernel panic! thanks.

Tell us a bit more about how your system is set up. Can you open PDFs in Preview?

yes! I didn't know it existed before, but I can, and it doesn't seem to crash there. hm. it still crashes in normal view, though. thanks!

Okay, well that's good. Preview is a separate app by the way; it's completely unrelated to Adobe's products.

Let's start at the beginning. You mention kernel panics... Are you getting these frequently? What sort of third party hardware do you have installed or plugged into the machine?

Also, if you open a new user account in System preferences, can Adobe open PDFs from that account? If it can then we can pretty safely say the problem with the Adobe app is in your original Home folder. :)
