MBP M1 Pro. Putting this thing through some large 30-minute tv episode rendering, and it's dragging! 30-second promos take 10-minutes to render. All 4K footage to NTSC 1080/60i broadcast. My loaded 2013 MacPro takes less than 90 seconds to pump these out. The 30-minute episode takes less than 90 minutes on my 2013 MacPro, MBP M1 Pro, 4+ hours.

I thought this thing was a screamer!?!?! Suggestions to optimize this for better performance with PP and ME? Maybe some preference settings? Using the recommended Metal Renderer. The software Renderer version is worse.

I will say through the timeline playback is smooth as butter and much better than the MacPro. Just the export renders to MXF and MP4 are killing me!

On the latest Adobe CC software on both machines. I really want this to work amazingly fast.

You definitely got something wrong in prefs or app install. M1s destroy any old 2013 Mac in Premiere and ME. You shouldn’t need to tweak anything. It all destroys old Macs out of the box. When I mean destroy I mean completely annihilate. A 30 second promo to 4K h264 should take 5-10 seconds to render if there are no complex masks.

Can you look at the bit rate in Media Encoder or the Export window? The latest Premiere version is known to put the bit rate at some crazy high level for no reason until a user changes it.
