I’ve just noticed ads in Safari favourites. When scrolling down I noticed a Siri suggestion and an Amazon ad (supposedly from my bookmarks). When did Apple bake ads into the OS like this?

Pic? Amazon ad sounds suspect.

The Siri Suggestion isn't really an ad, it takes from various sources to possibly save time. Ie. a friend texts you a link in Messages, Siri will suggest that link within Safari. You can probably disable that feature if you don't like it.

I didn’t take a screen shot and selected to not show any more suggestions from that site. It struck me as overly convenient that the bookmark suggestion was as Amazon product.

It’s not a bookmark suggestion. It’s a suggestion based on links you’ve received in iMessage for example.

It’s not an advert, like others have said; it’s a Siri Suggestion thing. You can turn it off in settings and is based of links you visited or received in messages / email.

I’ve turned Siri Suggestions off in most of iOS though. Not keen on it.
