Hey. I just bought a nice 20 inch aluminum iMac. I'd always dreamed of having a desktop mac that I could leave to download shows from my tivo and other sorts. My question is: do you guys have any ideas or programs that truly take advantage of having a desktop that is on for almost 24 hours a day.

Example: remote iSight viewing

Thanks in advance!

Torrent Server? But then that would be illegal :D Yaargh!

There are plenty of things you can download that help others by using your CPU when it's idle to make a massively-networked supercomputer of sorts for modeling climate change and things of that nature. I don't really know of any good applications off the top of my head that are good for you, though... Good luck and congrats on the purchase!

I was looking for something that was more useful for me than the community. I love helping people, but I'm looking for something to make the computer more useful.

On another note: I'm gonna have the iMac automatically turn on before I wake up. Is there any way to have Firefox open and open a set group of tabs during that first power up?

Thanks in advance.
