i've maked this thread just to ask one things, for 1 week, i don't know if it's really good to be subscrib to the developper program (actually, i test my programs on the simulator, and add them on my iphone by SSH... :( not very clean and legal...sorry).
So i would like to have advice from people who are subscribe to this program, and know if they are happy of it, how is it to have his application on the app store? are they paid?

Thank you for your answers, and sorry for my english (i'm french).
Jayz.

Yes you need to join the iPhone developer program if you want to make apps available on the App Store, and you have to pay $99. There is no other way to do it unfortunately.

have you ever published one of your apps on the app store? if yes, do you know how many people have download it? because, you know, i'm student, and 99$ is not nothing for me, i just want to know, even if my application isn't the better of the app store, if it's possible to reimburse the licence's price... is it a good placement

You will make your $99 back in a couple months, even if your app is complete ****. Example: you only need 1 in every 125,000 devices to download the app...not very many.

I'm sure the $$$ they make from the yearly membership completely dwarfs what they're making from the sales of some of the top apps. If I were them I'd drop the fee if you're going to be releasing only freeware.

I've pondered the same thing, but spam is already becoming such an issue in the App Store, no need to add to that issue.
