I have a new 6S+ arriving tomorrow and I am going through my Note4 to make sure that I am not leaving anything on it. I have all the photos, videos and music covered. However, I do not fully understand the Android file system structure, and am hoping someone can point me to some of the folders that I might want to look into to check for any files I may want? I am using AirDroid and went inside some downloads folder and found some .pdf files that I deleted.

1. Where else should I check for any files?
2. I have some Snotes from my Note3 that I somehow backed up a while ago and would like to place them on my Note4 so I can export the files as .PDF or something else before I sell the Note4. Where do these files go?

Thanks for any advice.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I want to make sure that I am not leaving any files on the phone that I may want to back up to my Mac. I know how to reset/wipe it.

Thanks.

Use Samsung's SmartSwitch on your desktop to back up all your Note 4 files. I don't know how good it works when trasfering to an iPhone since I never tried that.

1. when you plug in your phone to pc/mac, it should show you a new device. it's the same as plugging in a usb drive. connect > Open explorer in PC or Finder in OSX > drag and drop (to or from)

big companies (htc, samsung, motorola, sony etc) do provide their own itunes-like software to manage device. you can use one of those if you dont prefer the drag-and-drop method.

then there are app utilities (ES File explorer, Airdroid etc) app on your phone so you can transfer/backup contents without any wires. just using wifi connection. Airdroid goes one step further by allowing you do to almost everything wirelessly.

2. i believe Samsung has an app that could transfer contents from old phone to new one. you can also try samsung suite on mac.

because you have open access to all the storage, you can use it in any way you see fit. like a flash drive. you can copy any type of file on any computer so long there is enough storage.

i would highly recommend you install both Airdroid and ES File Explorer on your phone. two amazing apps.

hope this helps.
