I want to get an amazing animator friend of mine to draw a doodle on my unibody mbp. Neither of us have any experience in this specific field. I was wondering if anyone else here has done their own home made designs. I'm not really into the uberslick acrylic designs you see about though obviously acrylic seems to be the weapon of choice.

Which are better or is there any real difference on how Acrylic markers or paint go on the case?

Are there other good paints we could use?

Any other observations/tips at all are welcome.

Thanks

If you want to go the clean route, I'd do this:

Draw the design on nice paper.. scan/photograph it.. then create a Gelaskin:

http://www.gelaskins.com/create/laptops

- I have yet to try their custom service.. in the past I had one of their artist series stickers on my case.. which was later replaced with my own work printed from a laserprinter on sticker paper.

Hi Thanks for tip. Just to clarify incase it wasn't clear above... I want to avoid using any of these types of services. I want it to have soul... the type of soul you can only get from hand drawing straight onto the case. I will however keep this option in mind as a backup ;)

I have to say some of the designs on the gelaskins site are sweet
